Pablo Picasso’s paintings have been iconic in the history of modern art, inspiring artists all over the world. In the 1950s and ’60s, particularly, the works by this master artist became a focal point for several Indian artists to understand their own artistic journeys. P. T. Reddy, impressed by the figures and the colours used by Picasso, creates his own version of Bathers after the work of the master artist, giving the painting a richness of tones and figuration inspired by his own land.
