Watercolour, charcoal and ink on rice paper pasted on paper
In fine detail and with remarkable precision along with the gentleness of brushstrokes, Kartick Chandra Pyne captures here a rooster. The colours are rich, the image, so authentic, it immediately draws the attention of the viewer. Trained in academic arts, Pyne had a long artistic career in which he handled different techniques and media, creating work with a greater appeal to the senses than the intellect. Even though relatively simple, this Untitled work of a rooster begs us to contemplate the artist’s style at a deeper level.
