Among the finest landscapes, which he did early in his career, Florence from Michelangelo Point is an example of how V. B. Pathare had a rich command on the paintbrush and on the colour palette. With a gentle touch of the brush, he creates a dreamy painting to reveal a typical European landscape with rich panoramic views. Even today, Piazzale Michelangelo offers a stupendous lookout over Florence. One wonders if Pathare painted this plein-air or if he sketched it and painted it later from his studio?
