Part of the palace in the Fort of Allahabad

Allahabad was another place that the Daniells returned to, at greater leisure than they had enjoyed on the journey out. This columned hall, a masterpiece of palace architecture from the reign of Akbar, still survives though it is very little known as the fort is not accessible to the public.
