Always keen to explore the usage of light in dimensions, working on a canvas that was divided in a grid-like fashion (this experimentation remains a genius moment in Indian modern art by any artist), Akbar Padamsee’s explorations in art were seen through the lens of the changing times. It was in the Nineties that Padamsee started experimenting with ‘compugraphics’ or graphics on computer, in a big way, finding ways to create a contemporary idiom in his artistic style and had exhibitions showcasing many of these works.
