For an artist who dabbled in various genres, mediums, and subjects, Badri Narayan paints here an image of Ganesha, the elephant god, who brings home good luck and is prayed to by many Hindus before beginning anything auspicious. On display here is Narayan’s unique visual vocabulary through which the deity, son of Shiva, is presented. In a combination of black, red, and yellow, the work shows a mouse, Ganesha’s vaahan (vehicle), almost scrambling for his master’s attention.
