Sudhir Khastgir had the good fortune to study under both Abanindranath Tagore in Calcutta and Nandalal Bose in Santiniketan, rounding it off with a stint at an art school in Munich before making his home in Dehradun where he taught art and painted to his heart’s content. The artist often painted landscapes and the vistas that he visited, of which this Untitled work is an example. The work shows Kashtgir’s controlled brushwork and his attention towards recreating the overall magic of the scenery.
