One of India’s gifted landscapists, D. C. Joglekar made paintings that reflected the glory of India’s heritage, particularly the temples that dotted the state of Maharashtra. There’s vitality in Ambarnath Temple that he paints, highlighting the sculptural details and designs on the façade of the temple. The green leaves and the rich yellow blossoms of the Amaltas or the Golden Shower tree sway gently in the breeze wafting through the temple premises under the clear blue skies of the summer, making it a delicately beautiful work.
