New Delhi-based G. R. Iranna is known to give expression to his internal political conflicts through art that is born out of his natural reaction to the zeitgeist of contemporary times. Human condition remains central to his art that is depicted as much through creation of figures and patterns as through their erasure from a situation. In this acrylic work, for instance, the twisted and disembodied figures in a stark blue abstract background resonate the difficulties humans face in navigating their existence through the complexities of society.
