A student of literature and law before she started pursuing art seriously from Triveni Kala Sangam, Vasundhara Tewari Broota has painted mostly female nudes in her career. By her own admission, she relates more easily to the female form that any other, and from there proceeds to address issues, contextualising the place of a woman in the socio-political landscape, not just in India but also globally. The Untitled nudes we see, then, cannot be objectified, and should be viewed instead as feminist entities.
