This print by Devayani Krishna is in keeping with an ebullient phase of popular culture in which she draws our attention to a pair of slightly parted lips reminiscent of Andy Warhol’s objectification of Marilyn Monroe’s image. Her use of different shades of lavender accentuates the imagery. Suspended from the lips is a cherry hanging from its slender stem, leaving us to wonder whether The Bubble of the title is just that—an ephemeral moment in the artist’s usually serious quests.
