Nobel-laureate and National Treasure artist Rabindranath Tagore’s odd-sized painting here has an interesting architectural aspect, the block-like hewn geometric forms probably arising from his absorption with the building of Santiniketan’s numerous institutions and the many residences in which he lived over different times. They break the stylistic convention that was then the norm and lend an elegant edge to his increasing experiments with modernism.
