Krishna Reddy earned his spurs in Paris where he studied and worked at Atelier 17 of S. W. Hayter, along with whom he pioneered the simultaneous colour printing technique or the colour viscosity process. The Spider Web is an example of that process. Reddy specialised in accentuating finer details of natural process such as flowering of buds, or the birth of a seed, or natural phenomena such as the impossibly fine mesh of a spider’s web. Reddy owed his interest in all things natural to his stint at Santiniketan, whose close-to-nature style of teaching impacted his thought process.
