Paramjit Singh, who studied at Delhi Polytechnic and Atelier Nord, Norway, is known for his luminous, dense and mystic landscapes. His panoramic visions of landscapes are as much a pleasure to the senses as a prod to our extra-sensory insights to look beyond the obvious. In this oil on canvas, he paints a moonlit night which tears through the inky blue skies to shine on trees, which add to the overall density of the painting. Despite the darkness, distinct landforms such as the mound on which are present the trees, and a flat, bare patch of land in front, are discernible.
