A painter of untrammelled nature, Paramjit Singh’s landscapes lie beyond human invasions. Almost spiritual, his landscapes evoke in the viewer’s mind a sense of supplication to the sky, earth, water and trees in their natural state. This etching captures a dense area of a forest when the afternoon has advanced enough to start making way for the evening as evident, in the almost black hue of the trees. The blue of the sky suggests the light is still bright beyond the darkness enveloping the vegetation. The hue and texture of the soil indicate the rainy season is long gone.
