Pathos

Haku Shah offers in Pathos, a spatial depth with a colour palette that is dominated in ochre broken by shades of white. This is an exemplary painting in that it offers a deeply personal language of the artist who addresses, as the title of the paining suggests, the feeling of pathos. The figure’s face, done in classic Haku Shah trope with beady eyes, an absent forehead and elongated nose, is rendered in a dark tone, compared to the rest of the painting.
