Bhabesh Chandra Sanyal’s landscapes are imaginative, introspective, contemplative works in which the artist’s love for colour, texture, and material is evident. His works are poetic, offering ample scope for quiet reflection, created through his own lived experiences in various places that he visited, including Kangra, Himachal Pradesh, where he assisted in the setting up of Andretta Artists’ Village with Irish theatre artiste and environmentalist Norah Richards. Sanyal, though primarily a sculptor, created an impressive body of work, in which his landscapes, particularly, feel like visual poetry.
