One of the most distinguished artists of India, A. Ramachandran has explored diverse mediums with a dynamic personal vision and distinctive artistic style. This work from the late Eighties shows the artist’s lyrical engagement with nature and landscape, all of which emerges in his fantastical imagery projected in his oil and watercolour work in later years. Ramachandran’s visual language has a distinctly Indian appeal and his attention to detail, as seen in Nature I, allows the viewer to understand where the intricacy in the artist’s work emerges from.
