Nagji Patel studied painting for his bachelor’s at M. S. University, Baroda, but shifted to sculpture for his master’s and remained a sculptor throughout his life. It is the texturality of the medium that he worked on, enjoying it most when accentuating it with carving; many examples of his works can be seen in public places in India and abroad. This also helped him combine different media to create works such as this Untitled one, where the texturality itself graded with change in medium from end of the work to the other.
