Though primarily a sculptor, Nagji Patel looked at art from a perspective that allowed him endless possibilities to not only challenge himself but also interpret his artistic vocabulary to continuously evolve. His tryst with other genres and mediums, apart from sculptures, was his way to find himself and discover his potential. This Untitled work, probably derived from folklore, featuring peacocks and a monkey, all of them strategically located in the painting, is an example of Patel’s artistic vision and his masterful command on the lines that he drew.
