An art teacher in Kolkata who constantly asked his students to innovate, Partha Pratim Deb has used his art to practice what he has preached. Every work, he says, needs to be unique; an artist must innovate and experiment. This is the reason Deb has worked with found materials. In this Untitled work, the material is a piece of gauze pasted on mount board that creates a distinctive texture over which he has used acrylic and enamel. The result is the creation of a sense of depth, and layers, each of which has a different story to tell.
