The eldest son of Jahangir, Prince Khusrau rebelled in 1607, early in his father’s reign. The rebellion was swiftly suppressed but as Khusrau made a second attempt almost immediately, Jahangir had him blinded. He was held captive many years and eventually put to death in the orders of his younger brother, the future Shah Jahan, in 1621.
