You can’t look at Prabhakar Kolte’s work and not think what possibly lies beneath. It’s not exactly a cover-up exercise in hiding the elements that could well be in conventional genres of figurative, landscape, still-life… We will never know what Kolte seeks to cover and that’s exactly why his works are an enigma, visual narrations that are potently hidden. Influenced by Paul Klee, Kolte, who studied at J. J. School of Art, Bombay, continues to live and paint in Mumbai, while planning his art school in Karjat.
