Prabhakar Kolte’s artistic journey has been shaped by his uncanny knack of absorbing the works of Western masters in a manner that allows him to evaluate their colours, textures, form and themes to thereby provide an expression in his own art. His artistic oeuvre is shaped by a single dominant colour that forms the background against which he creates forms that fascinate him—abstraction, geometrical, anything. In his own words, and of which this Untitled painting is proof, the forms ‘function as pure colour in space’.
