Krishen Khanna’s visualisation of the characters that he created were sometimes perceptive, either drawn from memory or simply from his imagination. The artist, who had experienced Partition, was deeply affected when, as a young boy, he had to move with his parents to Shimla as a result of the division of the country. Much later, the horror got translated visually in his art and for most part, his faces mostly remained sombre, contemplative, as seen in this Untitled work.
