Please join us for an illustrated lecture by Prof. Michael Calabria on the meaning and context of the calligraphic inscriptions in the tomb complex.

Michael Calabria is Director of the Center for Arab and Islamic Studies at the Franciscan Institute, St. Bonaventure University, New York, U.S where he is also Associate Professor of Arab and Islamic Studies.

The Mute Eloquence of the Taj Mahal, curated by historian Rana Safvi, positions the Taj itself as a ‘speaking’—though ironically silent—agent through a comprehensive visual narrative, with works spanning from the late eighteenth to the mid-twentieth century.
