View from the Ruins of the Fort of Currah, on the River Ganges

Resuming their journey by the Ganga, the Daniells again stopped at Kara. This view depicts part of a ruined gateway, standing quite isolated like a folly in a landscape. The distant perspective powerfully conveys the scale of the river.
