In this unique court painting, Kali is seen leading Durga, who is seated on a bejewelled tiger, through a verdant landscape bordering a waterbody. The iconography of both goddesses remains faithful to their traditional portrayals. The scene, enclosed by a decorative floral border, adheres to the miniature painting style. Court paintings were commissioned works that often depicted myths and religious narratives besides depicting life at court. Notably, a Persian signature graces the bottom of the artwork.
