Please join us for a talk by architect and academician Mustansir Dalvi as he reflects on the city of Bombay tracing how memory and place shape our experience of the metropolis.

Born in Bombay, Mustansir Dalvi has done extensive research on architecture and urban issues and writes regularly for the National Herald, The Hindu, The Wire and Scroll, where he casts a critical gaze on Mumbai in its current post-planning avatar.

Through a rich selection of artworks, archival material, photography and multimedia displays, the exhibition Bombay Framed reconstructs Bombay’s journey — its port economy, industrialisation, cosmopolitan inhabitants and layered histories of migration that have defined its identity. It traces the constant motion of a metropolis shaped by migration, trade, industry and culture.
