In collaboration with Kolkata’s Alipore Museum, DAG presents The Babu & the Bazaar: Art from 19th and Early 20th Century Bengal, its landmark exhibition centred on Early Bengal oils and Kalighat pats. Featuring paintings both religious and secular in their subjects, the exhibition aims to unravel parts of Calcutta’s history, culture, class biases, and gendered hierarchies.
