It is believed that Bose Krishnamachari’s series, Stretched Bodies, emerged as a direct response to the artist’s comatose state in his younger days. The visions of these colours and abstract forms came when he was in a coma, translating much later on his canvas in what would be one of the artist’s longest, ongoing series. The vivid abstraction in neon colours are reminiscent of the pop art that emerged in the Sixties in the U.S. and Britain. That said, Krishnamachari’s work is derived from lived experiences.
