This is another instance of the Radha Krishna leela or romance playing out different human emotions. Krishna apologising to Radha by touching her feet shows equity in their relationship, which was established way back in the twelfth-century Gita Govinda by Vaishnava poet Jayadeva. Apparently Jayadeva was unable to find the right words to finish a section of the poem about Krishna apologising to Radha, so he left it unfinished and went for a bath to the Ganges. He returned home to find that his lunch had been eaten by Krishna as prasad and the empty page now completed with the phrase ‘dehi padapallavamudram’.
