Unpacking the themes of the exhibition ‘Histories in the Making: Photographing Indian Monuments’ through a creative workshop that explores ways to interpret and annotate photographs as objects, and study their social lives and histories.

Through this workshop students study photographs that shaped the emerging field of archaeology in the nineteenth century from the DAG Archives. They will step into the shoes of curators to develop an interpretation tool for the exhibtion that presents the layered histories of these photographs and contextualises them for contemporary viewers who have a radically different relationship to photography today.
