Join us for an exhibition walkthrough with historian and curator Sudeshna Guha as she delves into photography's powerful role in shaping our understanding of Indian history.

Histories in the Making: Photographing Indian Monuments, 1855-1920 builds upon the nineteenth-century photography of Indian monuments to foreground photography's powerful role in shaping our understanding of India's history. Curated by Sudeshna Guha, it draws attention to the connected histories of photography and field surveys of ancient India, to highlight the overlapping domains of colonialism, science and scholarship.
