Benode Behari’s Mukherjee’s blindness could not stymie his artistic career; he shifted to making collages with vibrantly coloured papers that he used in both geometrical as well as figurative compositions. Some of these paper collages were turned into prints, of which this is one instance. The collages explored his experiments with colour and abstraction using mostly simple shapes in flat tones reminiscent of Henri Matisse. The prints reflect the same sensibility while offering greater accessibility to art lovers and collectors.
