TALK | CONSERVING AND DISSEMINATING HERITAGE

October 04, 2024,
7-8 pm

22A Windsor Place, Janpath, New Delhi

Join us for a conversation between historian & writer Swapna Liddle and collector & author Ratnesh Mathur on how the mass production of postcards of Indian monuments in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries provided a medium for the dissemination of historical narratives, far beyond the scholarly domains of archaeological surveys and academic publication, to a wider public constituting literally millions of people.

The discussion will be held in the backdrop of our ongoing exhibition, Histories in the Making, and will extend to field surveys by the ASI and about conservation matters with Dr Liddle sharing insights with us.
