The Daniells did make it all the way to Cape Comorin, but Kalakkadu, the subject of their most southerly view, is actually some distance inland. Mildred Archer failed to find the temple depicted here and suspected the Daniells of inventing it; but the same scene was photographed, with the temple, by Antonio Martinelli in 1996.
