Highlighting the features of the two fisherwomen whom he creates lovingly in Fisher Girls, Mukul Dey gives a soft focus to this work through excellent draughtsmanship. One of the two figures, calmly doing her daily activity of catching fish, seems unaware of her garment slipping to reveal her breasts. The other female figure watches the catch while consciously clutching to her saree. Both the women are self-assured, unaware of their surroundings with the focus only on catching fish.
