Alternate reality—of objects, living creatures, and their relationship with each other—was a trope that Prabhakar Barwe handled with great adroitness as evident in several drawings in the genre he created, including this one. Birds of an altogether different composition—almost reptilian, with little in common with naturally-occurring birds—populate this work. It is the dotted line from one bird to another, and to other varied objects present in the vicinity, that establishes a connection between the visiting birds, as the title suggests. Do they look alien because they come from different places, different worlds?
