Erich Kips

Erich Kips was an award-winning artist known for his allegorical paintings. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe, Germany, and later trained under the portrait painter Carl Ritter. He traveled extensively to various countries, including the Netherlands, Italy, and North America. In 1930, he embarked on a five-month trip around the world aboard the luxury steamship Resolute, which made stops in countries such as Japan, China, Hawaii, Singapore, and included an extended stay in India where he had the opportunity to experience the spiritual and cultural vibrancy of Banaras.
