Untitled (Catching Fish) P. N. Mago Trained at the J.J. School of Art, P. N. Mago grounded his early practice in close observation of the everyday lives of working people. Informed by his own experience of the Partition and migration, works such as Untitled (Catching Fish) register themes of survival and resilience within a society undergoing profound change. His subsequent training at B. C. Sanyal’s studio expanded his engagement with murals and decorative arts, enriching his artistic vocabulary and scope for exploration. A founding member of the Delhi Silpi Chakra, Mago was also a respected author and educator, whose contributions to art and society remain significant. |
