Calcutta Art Studio was a leading art print press in the city and it specialised in making religious images. Their illustration of Jagaddhatri shows the goddess with two obeisant sages—Vasistha and Narada—on either side. An elephant lies underneath her lion's foot—a physical manifestation of the combined squashed egos of all deities. In the print, a large radiating halo—much like the <i>chalchitra</I> behind Durga idols—frames the backdrop.
