A participatory stitching session designed for groups of two with artist Sriparna Dutta, responding to Madhvi Parekh's kaleidoscopic portraits of community life, where participants breathe new life into keepsakes by stitching together past memories and new imaginations.

This Artists' Response programme is part of DAG's exhibition Madhvi Parekh: A Life in Line, Memories, and Myth, in collaboration with the Alipore Museum, Kolkata.
Please note that this programme is designed for groups of two — participants must register with a partner. Both individuals are required to register separately online using their respective names.

About the artist:
Sriparna Dutta is a visual artist working between New Delhi and Kolkata. She holds an MFA in Painting from the University of Hyderabad and a BFA from the Government College of Art and Craft, Kolkata. Her practice explores female narratives, womanism, landscapes, and social perspectives through paper, textiles, and soft-stitched sculptural forms, often in close engagement with local communities. Her work has been recognised with several awards and grants, including the Birla Award 2024, JK Paper Award (Anant Art Foundation), Space118 Fine Arts Grant, MAP Indian Artist Relief Fund Scholarship, FIRST TAKE Award (Abir India), a National Scholarship from the Ministry of Culture, India, and in 2025, the Leela Mukherjee Artist Educator Grant, FICA Artist Educator Grant, and Art Media Circle Artist Educator Grant. Sriparna has exhibited at the India Art Fair 2025, Anant Art Gallery, Bikaner House, CIMA, and Birla Academy, among others. She has participated in international art camps and residencies, and is currently part of the Dotwalk Ajitara Art Residency. Her practice continues to expand through site-specific installations, workshops, and community engagement.
