Landscape

Krishna Reddy is globally recognised for his revolutionary advances in modern-day printmaking. The works of the artist from the Fifties and early Sixties express a greater freedom and more spontaneity as they bring together not only a vision of nature and his experiencing of the image but also show a stronger relationship of the artist with his materials. Made by Reddy at the Tamarind Lithographic Workshop, the subject of the landscape here was chosen and modelled after the monumental marble sculpture that he had made at the International Sculpture Symposium held in Montreal. This landscape thus contains the shape of the sculpture.
