Ambadas’s work is unique, refusing to adhere to any norms of representation and interpretation, suggestive with an abstract expressionism reflecting his restiveness. In his own words, he ‘works with a restless speed’. Using expressive brushwork and tonal variations, his works convey the idea of upward movement, of foment, seen in most of his abstractions. There is a sense or an allusion to evolution, of churnings, of creation arising from the earth. The formlessness in the works signifies his intimate connection with the self and nature. These abstract works invoke the viewer to ponder and reflect on what they see, to lose themselves in his forms and make meaning of them as only they see fit
