Florescence 1

The title of this Mrinalini Mukherjee work derives from ‘efflorescence’, which implies a state of growing and blossoming, of nature’s uninterrupted torridness and flowering. In Mukherjee’s works titled Florescence 1 and Florescence 2, there is evidence of the unfolding of forms, of an unfurling, quickening world of nature that can prove elusive for its changing growth and wildness. Mukherjee sets both works within a furled ground that could easily represent leaves or petals within which she has created a ripe wilderness full of fruition and fecundity.
