Please join us for an exhibition walkthrough of Princes & People of India: Portraits by Emily Eden with Giles Tillotson, SVP, DAG, as he guides us through twenty-four hand-coloured lithographs by Emily Eden, the Eden family archives, and a rare group of Lahore Company School paintings.

Fellow (and former Director) of the Royal Asiatic Society, Giles Tillotson is currently Senior Vice President at DAG. His specialisms include the history and architecture of the Rajput courts of Rajasthan and of the Mughal cities of Delhi and Agra; Indian architecture in the period of British rule and after Independence and landscape painting in India.

Creating an extraordinary visual record of a society in transition recording the people, places and encounters, Princes & People of India: Portraits by Emily Eden reconstructs a vivid panorama of a world in transition—one that continues to shape the histories and identities of the present.
