Objects from the Sketch Book

One of India’s foremost modernists, Prabhakar Barwe often painted household objects for their own sake, and was particularly drawn to clocks and watches as a marker of the passage of time. His exploration of space in his paintings and drawings was particularly important in relation to light, and here he seems engrossed in bringing to us pages from his sketchbook of the objects he painted—almost luring us into exploring his art further.
