This potent drawing has a distraught air about it evident through the parade of snarling faces and underscored by the use of a black background. The background, in fact, adds to the impassioned look on the faces, some of which could be shrieking. Elsewhere, hands rise up, perhaps in a call for help. Could it be Altaf’s way of visualising the numerous problems plaguing the world during the 1960s towards which he was acutely sensitive and often spoke of the urgent need to find a way out for humanity?
