A creative person at the core, Altaf had a keen eye for all things artistic, such as movies, plays, dance, music, and literature, besides visual arts, of course. This drawing seems to be an ode to the music that he truly enjoyed and loved to relish live in concerts and performances. In fact, as a young student in London, he even once listed his favourite musicians that included both the Indian and western classical practitioners, among others. Some names he listed included Ali Akbar Khan, Pandit Omkarnath Thakur, Charlie Parker, Edith Piaf, and Bob Dylan, among others.
